The Romanian American Forum (RAF) was established in 1997. RAF is a not-for-profit organization registered in Washington, D.C. RAF’s goal is to develop, foster, and enhance American Romanian economic, cultural, and educational exchanges. Specifically, RAF: • Facilitates the introduction, promotion, and expansion of Romanian businesses in the American business mainstream; • Assists US companies to better understand the Romanian business environment, find appropriate business partners, and overcome any obstacles that may be encountered during business activities in Romania; and • Gathers and publishes information on business opportunities in Romania and helps US companies and private individuals with project development, financing and implementation. RAF is a one-stop repository for information pertaining to Romanian American economic, educational, and cultural relations. Through its work, RAF will strive to promote transparency, good governance, ethical and correct business practices, and all of the values associated with free open societies and democracies. Under a new charter and with a new management team established in 2003, RAF is well positioned to fulfill its mission and provide its members from both sides of the Atlantic with the knowledge and customized support necessary to reach their business objectives.
